Daniel King holds a PhD from the Computing Science Department at the University of Lancaster (UoL), and an MBA from Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). He has worked extensively in industry for established Internet infrastructure companies (Cisco, Bell Labs, Redback, Marconi) and optical start-up Movaz Networks. He was a co-founder of Aria Networks where he served as COO for four years. For the last ten years, he has been an independent consultant working with Old Dog Consulting. Within the IETF Dan was previously secretary of the CCAMP, L3VPN, PCE, and ROLL working group sand co-chair of the SUPA working group, and co-chair of SDN Research Group in the IRTF. He is active in several other SDOs including ETSI, MEF as a Research Council member, and the ONF where he is a Research Associate. He is also involved with a variety of SDN and NFV open source projects. Dan has co-authored 30 IETF RFCs, various MEF and ONF documents, and more than 40 academic articles and journals.
