SUMMARY:IEEE Future Networks World Forum 2024\, to be held in Dubai\, UAE\, 15-17 October
DESCRIPTION:IEEE Future Networks World Forum is proud to announce that the IEEE FNWF’24 will be hosting a series of symposiums on emerging topics in future networking technologies. These symposiums will provide an excellent opportunity for those who wish to showcase their work and get recognized for their work. They will provide a platform to discuss the latest advances and explore new ideas to develop and deploy future-generation communication networks. The IEEE FNWF’24 welcomes participation worldwide\, and the symposiums intend to bring the latest future network technologies to the forefront. \nPaper submission guidelines are here. \n\nEXTENDED DEADLINE for papers: 15 AUGUST 2024\n\n  \nABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM:\nTitle: OPTICAL-WIRELESS CONVERGENCE: BEYOND XHAUL\, ENABLING THE COMMUNICATIONS-COMPUTING CONTINUUM \n\nDate: 17th of October 2024\nChair\, Organizer: Jorge Pereira\, EC\n\nAbstract: \nWith the accelerating deployment of 5G NR and with the advent of the so-called Communications-Computing continuum\, the role of optical in providing more than just backbone capacity is becoming critical. This Symposium will provide a first glimpse at the challenges in this area. A number of EU-funded projects in the context of 5G PPP and 6G SNS JU will present their approach and achievements thus far. \n  \nTopics of interest: \nAreas to be addressed include\, but are not limited to: \n\nchip\, components and antennas\nin-chip opto-electrical integration\nXhaul; from GPON to TPON\nremoting of BS/AP\, Open-RAN\nEdge computing and MEC\n\n  \nAgenda Session: “From RAN Disaggregation to 3Cs”\nChair:- Jorge Pereira\, EC \n>>> 5G PPP \n\nINT5GENT – Integrating 5G enabling technologies in a holistic service to physical layer 5G system platform – Dimitris  Apostolopoulos\, ICCS\n5G-COMPLETE – A unified network\, Computational and stOrage resource Management framework targeting end-to-end Performance optimization for secure 5G muLti-tEchnology and multi-Tenancy Environments – Dimitris  Apostolopoulos\, ICCS\nTERAWAY – Terahertz technology for ultra-broadband and ultra-wideband operation of backhaul and fronthaul links in systems with SDN management of network and radio resources – Christos Tsokos\, ICCS\n5G-CLARITY – Integrating 5GNR\, WiFi and LiFi in Private Networks with Slicing Support – IHP (TBC)\n\n  \n>>> 6G SNS \n\nSEASON: SElf-MAnaged Sustainable High-Capacity Optical Networks – Luis Velasco\, UPC\nFLEX-SCALE: Flexibly Scalable Energy Efficient Networking – Ioannis Tomkos\, Univ. SUMMARY:5G Corridors Workshop: 5G coverage along transport corridors - Brussels on 16 October 2024
DESCRIPTION:5G Corridors Workshop 16/10/24\n\nVenue:  Room 1.A Centre Borschette\, Rue Froissart 36\, Brussels\nStart:  11:30 (coffee available from 11:00) until 17:30\n \nThe GUIDE project\, with the support of HaDEA\, DG CNECT and the 5GMEC4EU project\, are organising this workshop to review and discuss\, the ongoing 5G Corridors work\, the status of the 5G Strategic Deployment Agendas in the fields of rail and road and other CEF digital initiatives.  The objective is to show the achievements of key 5G corridor deployment actions and to stimulate further public and private partnership initiatives by showing what is possible. \nThe workshop builds on the CEF Digital 5G Corridors Call 1 and Call2 projects and engages stakeholders in strategic conversations aiming at defining priority deployment roadmaps\, various cooperation models\, while identifying and sharing best practices.  The workshop will take a participatory approach\, whereby stakeholders and other potential participants in future waves of deployment can exchange ideas and insights.  The ambition is to reinforce the community around 5G-CAM implementation plans in order to move forward with deployment of 5G Corridors. \nCEF DIGITAL  events 16~18 October 2024\nThis event is the first part of three days of events focused on the CEF Digital program: \n\n5G Corridors Workshop  on 16 October (registration below)\nCEF Digital event on 17 October  (link to CEF Digital event registration)\nSmart Communities Support Platform event 18 October (link to 5G For Smart Communities event registration)\n\nYou need to register directly on the specific pages for each event you wish to attend. \nAgenda and REGISTRATIONS on https://guide.5gcorridors.eu/event/5g-corridors-workshop-16-october-2024/
